Mission

MIC's primary mission is to research and enhance teaching and learning through the design and use of ICT facilities and innovative ICT-based methodologies. Examples of technologies it has developed include the secure distribution and dissemination of information through wide area networks, and the installation, configuration and deployment of telecommunications and campus surveillance systems.

Services

  • Operates multimedia seminar room as a venue that enhances and enriches pedagogical methodology through the use of multimedia – combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video or interactive content – thus promoting the overall quality of instruction by promoting effective and participatory learning;
  • Development and deployment of digital signage systems to beam information to the wider community at strategic locations to relay informational or critical information;
  • Operates Video Studio to give learners the platform to acquire skills in media production to prepare them for entry-level employment in multimedia production, as graphic designers in electronic media, digital video editors, desktop publishers and web designers. It is also the production house of the Institutes' eLearning material and archival productions.
